Demon Hunter passives

Passive skills replaced Traits late in game development. Many passives are very similar to previously-known traits, with the main changes coming in changes to the character level requirements, and the fact that passives are on/off, rather than using 1, 3, or 5 points, as Traits did. Characters only get three passive in total, with one slot opening up for a passive at Clvl 10, 20, and 30.


Demon Hunter Passives

This list is tentative and based on the beta build. Expect further refinements in the final game.


Weak Spot

Weak Spot is enabled at level 3.
Increases critical strike damage by Template:Cyanize.


Archery

Archery is enabled at level 6.
Reduces the cost of Hatred-based skills by Template:Cyanize.


Cloak of Shadows

Cloak of Shadows is enabled at level 6.
Reduces melee damage taken by Template:Cyanize.


Aggression

Aggression is enabled at level 12.
Increases attack by Template:Cyanize.


Superior Skill

Superior Skill is enabled at level 12.
Increases precision by Template:Cyanize.


Toughness

Toughness is enabled at level 12.
Increases vitality by Template:Cyanize.


Back to Basics

Back to Basics is enabled at level 18.
Increases the basic damage done by the Demon Hunter's weapon by Template:Cyanize.


Focused Discipline

Focused Discipline is enabled at level 18.
Reduces the cost of Discipline-based skills by Template:Cyanize.


Opportunity

Opportunity is enabled at level 18.
Increases damage dealt to slowed targets by Template:Cyanize.


Years of Training

Years of Training is enabled at level 18.
When a Discipline-based skill is used, damage dealt by the Demon Hunter is increased by Template:Cyanize for 10 seconds. Can stack up to three times.


Ballistics

Ballistics is enabled at level 24.
Increases damage dealt by rockets by Template:Cyanize. The rocket effect is provided by certain runestones.


Hot Pursuit

Hot Pursuit is enabled at level 24.
When Hatred is at its maximum, run speed is increased by Template:Cyanize.


Killing Spree

Killing Spree is enabled at level 24.
When an enemy is killed by the Demon Hunter, the next attack dealt within the next 5 seconds has Template:Cyanize increased critical strike chance.


Resourcefulness

Resourcefulness is enabled at level 24.
When Discipline is under Template:Cyanize, the regeneration of Hatred is increased by Template:Cyanize.

By the July 2011 Press Event, the skill system had once again been completely redesigned. The traits system was scrapped, and replaced by a new version of passive skills, but still separate from the active skills. Although 2 of the Demon Hunter's traits were turned into passives, the other 5 were removed, and 11 passives were brand new.

The list of Demon Hunter passives shown at the press event is likely still in development and may change before game release. Also, the levels of the passives are a hold-over from when they were traits and will be changed.
