Exploding Wave
Exploding Wave is a rune effect in Wave of Force, an Offensive Wizard skill that also works well as a defensive tool.
This rune effect sets of a huge series of blasts by adding a 40% chance to any enemy hit by the initial Wave to recast a smaller secondary one. As easily as a Wizard can hit 10+ enemies with this skill, imagine 4+ smaller ones kicking off in a cluster of enemies, all of those hitting for 100% weapon damage. Enemies in a large cluster could easily take 500% weapon damage or more from this one attack.

Prior to the skill revision in February 2012, this rune effect was enabled by the Indigo Rune, granting the following effect with a level 7 runestone:
