Gargantuan

Gargantuan is a Support Witch Doctor skill unlocked at level 18. It summons a large zombie to fight for the Witch Doctor. This skill has not been tested by players, but the summoned creature has been seen in data mined screenshots, and it is a huge and terrifying creature.

Gargantuan Command Summon (Level 18)

[e] Cost: 528 Mana Cooldown: 120 seconds Summon a large zombie follower to fight for you. The Gargantuan swings for 30% of your weapon damage as Physical damage with every swing.

Bruiser

[e] The Gargantuan's damage is increased to 210% of your weapon damage as Physical. The Gargantuan also gains the ability to the periodically slam enemies, stunning them for 3 seconds.

Restless Giant

[e] When the Gargantuan encounters an Elite enemy or is faced with 5 enemies nearby it enrages for 15 seconds gaining: • 50% movement speed • 50% attack speed • 200% physical damage This effect cannot occur more than once every 120 seconds. Elite enemies include Champions, Rares, Bosses and other players.

Wrathful Protector

[e] The Gargantuan only lasts 20 seconds but is also more powerful. The Gargantuan's fists burn with fire, dealing 155% of your weapon damage as Fire and knocking enemies back with every hit.

Humongoid

[e] Gargantuan gains a Cleave ability allowing its attacks to hit multiple targets for 210% of your weapon damage as Physical.

Big Stinker

[e] The Gargantuan is surrounded in a poison cloud, dealing 45% of your weapon damage per second as Poison to nearby enemies.

Note: Information is based on a level 60 character and rank 7 runestones.

Skill Design

The Gargantuan is one of the Witch Doctor's pets, and serves as a tank. Jay Wilson described it in an interview:[1]

One of the newest pets that we've added to the Witch Doctor, which is the Gargantuan, which is a big giant, kind of, tough zombie creature that is designed more to absorb damage and kind of distract enemies.

It certainly looks more than capable of dealing as well as absorbing damage.

Synergies

• No synergies with any of the passive skills are yet known.

Development

This skill was listed amongst the Witch Doctor's skills at Blizzcon 2009 and 2010, but was never seen in use. It has yet to be seen in movement, and the only visuals were obtained via data mining the beta client.
