Rain of Toads is a rune effect in Plague of Toads, a Physical Realm Witch Doctor skill.
This rune effect changes the skill function entirely. Rather than hopping toads proceeding out from the Witch Doctor, a shower of them drops down on a targeted location, dealing 130% weapon damage over two seconds to anything in the fairly small radius of effect.
This effect is useful for precise targeting, such as directly on top of a shaman or caster in the back row, that other Witch Doctor skills can not reach.
This effect is also useful for triggering Life on Hit effects and chance-on-hit effects from equipment such as Stun,Freeze,Fear, etc.
