Special Recipe is a rune effect in Smoke Screen, a Discipline-spending stealth and escape Demon Hunter skill.
This rune effect reduces the cost of the skill from 14 to 12 Discipline. This is a tiny change, even given the small pool and slow regen rate of Discipline, but for players using this skill constantly, 2 less ever time will add up.
This rune effect was actually boosted in relative value by the nerf given to Smoke Screen a week after release[1], when the duration was dropped from 2 to 1 second. That change means characters need to cast the skill more often, (for those who didn't give up on using it all together), hence saving Discipline per cast becomes even more important.
