Passive skills replaced Traits late in game development. Many passives are very similar to previously-known traits, with the main changes coming in changes to the character level requirements, and the fact that passives are on/off, rather than using 1, 3, or 5 points, as Traits did. Characters only get three passive in total, with one slot opening up for a passive at Clvl 10, 20, and 30.


Demon Hunter Passives

This list is tentative and based on the beta build. Expect further refinements in the final game.


Weak Spot
Increases Critical Hit damage by 100%.

  • Enabled at level: 3


Archery
Reduces the resource cost of Hatred-type skills by 50%.

  • Enabled at level: 6


Cloak of Shadows
Reduces melee damage taken by 20%.

  • Enabled at level: 6


Aggression
Increases Attack by 20%.

  • Enabled at level: 12


Superior Skill
Increases Precision by 20%.

  • Enabled at level: 12


Toughness
Increases Vitality by 20%.

  • Enabled at level: 12


Back to Basics
Increases basic weapon damage by 100%.

  • Enabled at level: 18


Focused Discipline
Reduces the resource cost of Discipline-type skills by 20%.

  • Enabled at level: 18


Opportunity
Increases damage dealt to slowed targets by 20%.

  • Enabled at level: 18


Years of Training
When a Discipline-type skill is used, damage dealt by the Demon Hunter is increased by 10% for 10 seconds. Can stack up to three times.

  • Enabled at level: 18


Ballistics
Increases damage dealt by rockets by 100%. The rocket effect is provided by certain runestones.

  • Enabled at level: 24


Hot Pursuit
When Hatred is at its maximum, run speed is increased by 10%.

  • Enabled at level: 24


Killing Spree
When an enemy is killed by the Demon Hunter, the next attack dealt within the next 5 seconds has 30% increased critical strike chance.

  • Enabled at level: 24


Resourcefulness
When Discipline is under 20%, the regeneration of Hatred is increased by 30%.

  • Enabled at level: 24
