Near Death Experience is a Monk passive skill unlocked at Level 25, which enables the Monk to cheat death.

Description

When receiving fatal damage, you are instead restored to 35% of maximum Life and 35% Spirit.

This effect cannot occur more than once every 90 seconds.

Lore

"We do not see what has been done, we only see what remains to be done." - Mantra of the Monks of Ivgorod.

Level

Unlocked at Level 25.

Synergies

No synergies with any active skills or other passive skills are known.

Development

Passive skills have had a long and storied history. When Diablo III debuted at the WWI 2008, skill trees included passive skills, much like in Diablo II. In 2010, it was announced that passive skills had been renamed traits and separated out from active skills. At the July 2011 Press Event, Blizzard announced that passive skills were once again in the game, replacing the traits system. Near Death Experience was first revealed in the July 2011 Press Event as a level 25 passive.
