Death’s Bargain
Death's Bargain is a legendary pants that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can be found and equipped by any class, though the legendary property is best used by melee combatants.
This item can only be found from Act Five Horadric Caches and nowhere else.
The Smart Drop system ensures that these pants will usually roll with the mainstat appropriate to the class that finds it. Belts can roll with +skill bonuses as well, and these will also usually get Smart Loot'ed to appropriate skills for your class.
Death’s Bargain properties[edit | edit source]
This item has an interesting legendary affix that turns all of a character's regen into damage, via a death aura. (This stops any of the regen from healing the character.) It's a nice concept, but in practice the damage dealt is too small to make a worthwhile difference in the end game even with very high regen. A player with 50,000 regen/sec would deal at most 500,000 damage per second with these pants, which is negligible on high Torment levels where even the trash mobs have tens of millions of hit points.
The damage can be pretty useful on lower difficulty levels though, and a lazy or bored player could add a lot of regen and just stand around on Normal or Hard letting everything but Elites die immediately from coming into contact with the death aura.
