Beckon Sail is a legendary cloak that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can only be equipped by the Demon Hunter, and will only very rarely drop for any other class.

The Smart Drop system ensures that cloaks will usually roll with Dexterity, or at least never roll with Strength or Intelligence. Any bonus skill damage will be tuned to Demon Hunter skills as well.

Beckon Sail properties

This item has a legendary affix that effectively gives the Demon Hunter a "death cheating passive" as many other classes have. It auto-casts the powerful escape skill, Smoke Screen, if the Demon Hunter drops below 25% of hit points. An identical bonus can be obtained from two items of The Shadow’s Mantle set.

DH vs. Beckinsale.

The cloak is named after Kate Beckinsale, who plays the main character in the Underworld vampire vs. werewolf films and who the Blizzard artists appear to have modeled the female Demon Hunter upon. Like most red-blooded males, former Diablo 3 Game Director Jay Wilson is an admirer of her.
