Rimeheart is a legendary sword that can be found in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. This item can be found and equipped by any class, though melee weapons are very seldom equipped by Demon Hunters.

The Smart Drop system ensures that this sword will usually roll with the mainstat appropriate to the class that finds it.

Rimeheart properties

This item has a legendary affix that's very powerful with the chance to deal instant death to non-Elite enemies, but only in certain situations. It's of little use for a player on a moderate difficulty level, since the trash mobs there will die so quickly anyway. This weapon really becomes valuable only on higher difficulty levels or deeper Greater Rifts where it saves a great deal of time by instantly killing enemies that would take seconds of grinding otherwise.

The Quinblades are the only surviving weapons forged by master swordsmith
Morad Peerse, each a unique expression of his craft. Made during Peerse's Low
Period, which followed the loss of his family, Rimeheart, with the blistering
chill it radiates and its cold-forged iron blade, reflects both the hardening
of its creator in the wake of tragedy and his consummate skill.

History

Before 2.1, The legendary affix said "10% chance to shatter and instantly kill lesser enemies that are Frozen." This had negative implications for Greater Rift consistency, so it was changed to do 10,000% damage instead.
