No throwing weapons have yet been seen or confirmed in Diablo 3.
It was widely-assumed they would return as a weapon type used by the fifth character, but when the Demon Hunter debuted at Blizzcon 2010, there was no indication given that the class would use any ranged weapons other than bows and crossbows.
As it does not appear that throwing weapons will appear in the initial release of Diablo III, many fans are hoping they'll return in one of the Expansions, possibly along with a class who specializes in their use.
