Archfiend Arrows.

The Archfiend Arrows is a crafted legendary quiver that can only be created in Reaper of Souls.

To create this item, find the Plan: Archfiend Arrows, which can be randomly dropped randomly by any level 70 target, and teach the plan to the Blacksmith. Once learned by the smith, any character on your account can make as many of these as you can afford to create.

Only Demon Hunters can equip quivers in Reaper of Souls.

Archfiend Arrows Properties[edit | edit source]

This quiver has no legendary property and the inherent properties are possible to spawn on any quiver. It's just a convenient way to roll a quiver with potentially larger stats than a Rare, with Critical hit Chance and Damage to Elites guaranteed to appear. Quivers and other off-hand items are very difficult to obtain with the desired stats since there are a huge number of possible affixes on off-hand gear. (Every Quiver has an inherent Attack Speed bonus, though Rares top out at 15%, while legendary quivers can go up to 20%.)

A top quality quiver must also roll with +Dexterity, and with 4 random affixes (2 will always be primary and 2 secondary) the odds aren't great, since there are so many possible modifiers on a quiver.

With a good roll this quiver can be as good as any in the game, since as of Patch 2.0.5, the only three quivers with a legendary property do not boost any common builds.

  • Minimum Item Level: 70

Primary Affixes:

  • Critical Hit Chance Increased by 8.0–10.0%
  • Increases damage against elites by 5–8%

Very rare. Made from bones harvested from a live
demon -- not an easy thing to do.

Crafting[edit | edit source]

Once a player finds the randomly-dropped plan and teaches it to the Blacksmith, the item can be created by any character on that account. (Though only a Demon Hunter can equip this item.) This item always has a lvl 70 requirement, no matter what level character crafts it. The Smart Loot system means that this item will usually roll with a mainstat and/or +skill damage bonus appropriate to the class of the character that creates it.

Crafting Costs:

Patch 2.0.6 controversially[1] removed Legendary Materials, which changed the crafting costs for every level 70 RoS recipe. Prior to that patch Board Walkers required 1 Shuddering Demon Bone and 1 Death's Breath.

Legendary Material[edit | edit source]

Legendary Materials were controversially[2] removed in Patch 2.0.6. The following is archived for posterity.

Shuddering-demon-bone.jpg

The required legendary material, Shuddering Demon Bone can only be found from Unique (purple) Morlu Berserkers. They are the melee-fighting Morlu types (not the Meteor casters) found early in Act Four who are armed with long staves like Daibos. This is one of the harder legendary materials to farm, and players are advised to scan bounties in Act Four, since one or the other of the Uniques will spawn as a bounty about every third game.
