Special Modifiers in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls are legendary affixes. These are item properties found only on legendary (including set and crafted) items. They are displayed in orange text and are all one-of-a-kind item bonuses found only on that item.

Pre-release it wasn't clear if Diablo 3 would have "special modifiers" and what form they would take. There were hardly any such bonuses in Diablo 3 with its simplified and disappointing itemization, but with the release of Diablo 3 version 2 and then Reaper of Souls in 2014, the system was greatly improved and enhanced.
