The Staff of Herding is an item that can only be created by crafting it with the Blacksmith. It requires several special ingredients to create and has only one use; to open a portal to the secret level Whimseyshire.
Crafting the Staff
The items required to create this object are:
- One Staff of Herding plan. This plan is only dropped by Izual, a boss found in Act Four, and it's a rare drop. Players will have to farm him for some time to obtain the plan, which can then be taught to the blacksmith.
Once the plan is learned, these five special items are required to create the Staff of Herding.
Once the Staff is created, it can be upgraded to the Nightmarish Staff of Herding, Hellish Staff of Herding, or Infernal Staff of Herding via Gorell the Quartermaster, an NPC merchant found in the town section of Bastion's Keep.
