Spears are long, two-handed melee weapons found in Diablo III. It's known that only some characters can use these large weapons; Barbarians certainly, but probably not Wizards or Witch Doctors. Monks were said to be unable to use them at one point in early 2010, but later that year Monks were supposedly capable of using such weapons.

Throwing Spears?
It's not known if throwing spears, such as javelins or glaives, will return in Diablo III. None have yet been seen in the game.
