The Cauldron of Jordan is a UI element designed to replace the now-defunct Scroll of Wealth function.
The Cauldron of Jordan is awarded from a quest very early in the game, which allows players to sell items while in the field for vendor cost. The item can be sold anywhere, at any point in time, and the player will receive the full sell price as listed on the tooltip of the item in question.
Much like the Nephalem Cube, the Cauldron of Jordan is not an item that sits in the player's inventory, like the Horadric Cube of yore. It is now a user interface element that appears near the paperdoll in the inventory pane.
To use the Cauldron, the player simply needs to open their inventory, click on the icon for the cauldron, and then click on an item to sell.
