Legendary wands are ranged weapons that can only be equipped by Wizards in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. These are comparable to other melee weapons in damage and generally have a faster attack speed, plus they may spawn with various Wizard-themed affixes, such as increased maximum or faster regeneration of Arcane Power.
Though Wands look like Melee Weapons, the game actually classifies them as Ranged Weapons since if a Wizard attempts to left click cast a spell with a wand equipped and insufficient Arcane Power, the default attack is the ranged Wand Throw. This keeps the Wizard standing in place and attacking with a ranged projectile, rather than running up to the target to hit it melee style.
- Items of level 61 and higher can only be found in Reaper of Souls.
