Skill Design
Furious Charge is a good skill for escaping tough situations, running in with a bang or killing a particular monster behind frontal lines. The graphics of this skill make using it a lot of fun, and is quite damaging to enemies. Having a weapon with high damage will make this skill better compared to duel wielding.
Skill Rank Table
- Rank 1: Charge directly at an enemy causing 100% of normal weapon damage to it and 65% to enemies in the way.
- Rank 2: Charge directly at an enemy causing 110% of normal weapon damage to it and 70% to enemies in the way. (A)
- Rank 3: Charge directly at an enemy causing 120% of normal weapon damage to it and 75% to enemies in the way. (A)
- Rank 4: Charge directly at an enemy causing 130% of normal weapon damage to it and 80% to enemies in the way. (A)
- Rank 5: Charge directly at an enemy causing 140% of normal weapon damage to it and 85% to enemies in the way. (A)
(A) = Assumed
Trait Synergies
Furious Charge benefits directly from the following traits:
- Intimidation: Increases damage done and reduces vendor costs.
- Cruelty: Increases your chance of dealing critical strikes.

Furious Charge may benefit from the following traits:

- Thunderous Blows: Increases damage done when the Barbarian is wielding a two-handed weapon.
- Beast Hunter: Damage bonus against Beasts.
- Demonsbane: Damage bonus against Demons.
- Just...Stay...Dead!: Damage bonus against Undead.
- Massive Blow: You have a chance to hit all nearby targets with a single hit. Requires a two-handed weapon.
- Pig Sticker: Increases damage done when the Barbarian is wielding a polearm, spears or when he throws weapons.
- Die by the Sword: Increases damage done when the Barbarian is wielding swords.
- Axe Murderer: Increases damage done when the Barbarian is wielding axes.
- Brain Basher: Increases damage done when the Barbarian is wielding maces.
Note: The current trait list is very out-of-date and will no doubt be overhauled before game release.
Skill Rune Effects
The known rune effects for Furious Charge are:
- Unknown rune: Gives a boost to run speed after use[1]. This is very much like Sprint.
- Unknown rune: Leaves a trail that damages enemies[1].
Development
Furious Charge was first seen in the WWI 2008 gameplay video, where it was a Tier V skill in the Battlemaster Skill Tree. This version dealt 120% weapon damage to the target and 80% weapon damage to enemies in the way at rank one.
The stats of this skill were reduced slightly for BlizzCon 2009, but couldn't be played in the demo because it was too high level to pick. It couldn't be chosen at BlizzCon 2010 either, so there are no gameplay reports detailing any use of it.
Previous Versions
See the Barbarian skill archive for more details on previous versions of Furious Charge and other Barbarian skills.
In Other Games
Furious Charge is an updated version of Diablo II's Paladin skill Charge. That skill did damage to a single monster after rushing at it, and included knockback.
