Skill Design

Not much is known about this skill, how it works or how it looks. It is probably used for taking out ranged monsters who pack together to spam attacks on you, although it can also be used as an area denial tool, or better yet, cast it on yourself and watch the melee monsters burn as they try to get to you.

Skill Rank Table

  • Rank 1: Call up to 4 fetishes to bathe a region in fire. Each fetish deals 4 fire damage per second to enemies in front of them. Cost: 12 mana.
  • Rank 2: Call up to 5 fetishes to bathe a region in fire. Each fetish deals 8 fire damage per second to enemies in front of them. Cost: 12 mana. (A)
  • Rank 3: Call up to 6 fetishes to bathe a region in fire. Each fetish deals 12 fire damage per second to enemies in front of them. Cost: 12 mana. (A)
  • Rank 4: Call up to 7 fetishes to bathe a region in fire. Each fetish deals 16 fire damage per second to enemies in front of them. Cost: 12 mana. (A)
  • Rank 5: Call up to 8 fetishes to bathe a region in fire. Each fetish deals 20 fire damage per second to enemies in front of them. Cost: 12 mana. (A)

(A) = Assumed

Trait Synergies

Several traits boost the damage of the Witch Doctor's spells. Only one seems to be a specific bonus that applies to this skill, though.

Note: The current trait list is very out-of-date and will no doubt be overhauled before game release.

Skill Rune Effects

  • No rune effects for Pit of Fire are known.

Development

Pit of Fire originally appeared as a Witch Doctor skill in the BlizzCon 2009 demo and was still around in 2010. It has never been used by a fan or exhibited publicly.
