Revision as of 21:07, 9 August 2011

All traits were removed from the game prior to the press event of July 2011 and replaced with passive skills. This page is archived for future curiosity and reference. This page is not to be updated with current info; see the Demon Hunter skills page for current skill information.

Traits are passive skills. Points spent in these grant bonuses that affect other aspects of the character. Traits are not displayed in the skill listing, but are on their own separate Traits menu.

Unlike skill points, which are earned at every level up, Trait points are only awarded every other level. Only on odd numbered levels: 1, 3, 5, 7, and so on, up to 59.

Known Demon Hunter Traits

There were only five traits listed for the Demon Hunter during her debut in the Blizzcon 2010 PvE demo. The class will have many more in the final game; all the other characters had around 30 in the Blizzcon 2010 build, though the developers said that might be too many and that some traits would likely be removed or combined to keep the total number from being overwhelming to players.

Click to the individual Traits pages for more details about the particular trait. Many common traits are available to more than one class. Traits become available in bunches, every 4 levels.

Level requirement: Under 10

Future Demon Hunter Traits

None of these have been confirmed by Blizzard, but they are very likely to be given to the Demon Hunter, since they are possesed by all of the other classes.

  • Beast Hunter -- Bonus damage against Beasts (animals). The other 4 classes have it.
  • Demonsbane Bonus damage against Demons. The other 4 classes have it.
  • Cruelty -- Increases the chance of dealing a Critical Strike. The other 4 classes have it.
  • Frenzied Attacks -- Increases damage and critical while dual wielding. The Barb and Monk have it, the DH might get it since she can dual wield pistol crossbows.
  • Intimidation -- Increases damage done and reduces vendor costs. The Barb, Monk, and Wizard have it now.
  • Just...Stay...Dead! -- Bonus damage against Undead. The other 4 classes have it.
  • Lucky -- Increases gold drops. The other 4 classes have it.
  • Natural Leader -- Unknown function, but all 4 classes have it.
  • Superior Skill -- +Dexterity. (All 4 other classes have this, while the Demon Hunter has Lightning Reflexes. Most likely the trait's name was changed and not updated throughout all the game files.
