The Monk uses holy energy to create a protected region on the ground for a few seconds that can not be bypassed by enemies.

Skill Design

When cast, this skill creates a large rune on the ground where the Monk is standing, with a small, Slow Time-like bubble shield surrounding the character. It seems to be impermeable to the movement of melee attackers, however it does not protect against long-ranged melee attacks. (A Fallen Overseer has enough range to hit the character standing in the middle, while regular Fallen cannot.)

It is unknown as to how this skill functions with ranged projectiles, flying enemies, or boss fights.

Development

This skill was first shown at BlizzCon 2009 as one of the originals when the Monk was unveiled. The whole idea behind this spell is to make life a little easier for the relatively frail Monk.
