Skill Design

A shot at already Entangled enemies.

Flux reports about his time using the skill from BlizzCon 2010[1]:

Entangling Arrow worked very differently (from Bola Shot). It’s largely a debuff; each shot ensnares enemies with a black chain that glows purple, and greatly slows their movement for several seconds. The arrow can hop between multiple targets, chaining them together for the duration. The damage dealt by the arrows is negligible though, so this was almost purely a defensive skill.

Skill Rank Table

Development

This skill was first shown at BlizzCon 2010 as one of the originals when the Demon Hunter was unveiled.

Graphics

Hi-ho spear thing, away!

Engangling Shot is one of the skills from the Demon Hunter's kit that emphasizes the shadowy nature of her abilities, along with other skills like Vault.
The projectile itself is metallic and light in color, which contrasts well with the effects of the chains themselves, which are a muted purple and black. After the projectile hits the target, they will be encircled by numerous ethereal chains which orbit in a glowing purple sphere around the center of the target. If there are enemies nearby the original target, they will all be linked by a spiky black chain and slowed.
