Wood Wraiths are entities that have taken the appearance of trees to prey on living entities in the physical realm.
Wood Wraiths They look like normal trees until you approach and then they break over and make their way towards you. They are Beast monsterslow but they offload pods which explode emitting a poison gas which you end up standing in if you are toe to toe. They rarely attack in more than a couple at a time, but mostly it'sone.

Diablo III Monster
Wood Wraiths It should be noted that wood wraiths are not just living, Entimmune to damage while in their 'non-like treestargetable' state, but are fully mobile beasts. They are actually animals posing as trees amongst foliage to fool and their unsuspecting prey. From the concept art they look to true identity can be things, mad plants, rather than individual entitiesrevealed by using a ranged attack on them. They do not have faces, and If they are not bipedal bodies formed from in actuality a woodwraith, "Immune" will appear instead of a damage number (assuming that the 'show damage numbers' option is activated). They If they are literally demonic treessimply a tree, it will show nothing, soulless and mindless and deformed by as you are attacking the dark magics that have animated themenvironment as opposed to a separate entity.
In combat they are mostly melee fighters, using their bulk and power to deal heavy damage to any targets they can reach. In addition, they will occasionally send out a series of essentially land mines in a straight line pattern towards their target.

I have heard the most ridiculous tales about travelers being ambushed by vicious trees! (laughs) It is too much. Despite their names, the wood wraiths are not plants, but fully mobile beasts who have taken on the guise of foliage to ensnare their prey. Only a simpleton could be fooled by such a trick.
