Fungal Tome

The Tome in Diablo I.

The Fungal Tome is an ancient Tome found in Diablo I. Unlike most other books and tomes found in the labyrinth underneath Tristram Cathedral it's unreadable.

Found

It can be found if you loot the body of a fallen adventurer on the ninth level, the Caves. As it can't be read, just picking it up will initiate the Black Mushroom quest. Next the players need to speak with Adria.

Adria says it's filled with all kinds of reagents used in potions and elixirs, most notably the Black Mushroom.

Author of the book is unknown, but seeing as it's located on ancient Horadric caves, it's likely one of the ancient mage order.
