There is one part to the Crumbling Journal and it's found on some skeletal remains in the Desolate Sands. The remains don't look obvious, they don't stand out any more than any other sets of bones but they are located in the same spot, on the east perimeter of the Sands as indicated in this Desolate Sands map.
Only one of your characters needs to find the journal for you to be credited with it.
