Weapon Mastery
Weapon Mastery is a Tier 1 skill from the Wizard's Conjuring skill tree, increasing physical damage with weapons.
This skill was seen in the Blizzcon 2008 wizard skill tree, but had been removed as of Blizzcon 2009. It's assumed it will not return in the final game.

Skill Design[edit | edit source]
This skill is something of a mystery, since there's little else to indicate that the Wizard would be using weapons for damage. It is known that the Wizard's equipment will have some bearing on her spell damage, so perhaps some skills derive their damage from the weapon damage, and this skill would boost that damage?
Either that or it's a harbinger of more melee/weapon type skills, or just something the D3 team was playing around with in their character development.
This would've been useful in Diablo 2, what with all the "unique" builds, including the melee Sorceress. The question is if that kind of diversity will exist in Diablo 3, or else this skill seems useless. On the other hand, it could be Blizzard taking the "melee Sorceress" to a whole new level with Damage Resistance and Spectral Blade...
Skill Rank Table[edit | edit source]
- Rank 1: Increase damage by 15.
Only Rank 1 is currently known.
Synergies[edit | edit source]
While they are not in direct synergy with this skill, Damage Resistance and Spectral Blade are two other skills that are melee-inspired in nature.
Skill Rune Effects[edit | edit source]
- None known.
Development[edit | edit source]
Spell was first shown at BlizzCon 2008 when the Wizard was unveiled. It seems it was either merged with Magic Weapon in time for BlizzCon 2009, or just removed.
