It is currently unknown what items the Enchantress can equip, or what the restrictions are, outside of what has been seen at this point. Eirena can equip two rings, an amulet, a unique unlockable item at level 25 which is earned through her questline's completion, and she has been seen thus far brandishing a two-handed staff.

<blue>If you give the Enchantress a thing called energy bomb -- which is one of my favourite things that she does -- she’ll cease that when the player gets down to a certain percent of health because it’s this big bomb that goes off. She automatically does that when you get down to a certain amount of health.</blue>===Unlocked at Level 30===

edited gear and skills
The followers in Diablo III are much more restricted in what they can equip from what we've seen in the mercenaries in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.
The Enchantress is able to equip two-handed axes, two-handed maces, two-handed staves, two-handed swords, two rings, one amulet and a Enchantress specific item called Enchantress Focuses. She appears to be brandishing two-handed staff or a wand and a Orb in more than one screenshot.
Like the other followers, Eirena has three tiers of gear progression, which are based upon level.

While, oddly enough, gaining some of the Necromancer's abilities from Diablo II, the spell kit for the Enchantress appears to be very similar to that which is seen with the Wizard, namely a fixation on unstable Arcane powers.
