Runestones Socketed runestones will be freely swappable once socketed. Players can take out runes will be able to replace runestones at any time, at no cost and put in new ones whenever they wish, without any cost or risk of losing the runerunestone. The [[D3 Team]] has committed to rune switching being easy runestone swapping in the final game, but they have said there will be some sort of limitation, purely to prevent macro-switching exploits. They want changing runes swapping to be easy and forgiving, but not something that can be automated to do in a second with done automatically by a third party program. Players , which could use that lead to change runes constantlyconstant, using one for crowd control and another for big damage to a single targeteffortless switching, for instance. That's something the developers which they think is cheesy, so they're not going of as contrary to allow ittheir intended style of play. How they'll stop it hasn't been detailedThe team has not yet revealed what form this limitation will take, but it could be something as simple as requiring players to return to town before being able to change out runes.
