Special Modifiers were a group of item [[modifiers]] in Diablo II that were not [[prefixes]] or [[suffixes]]. Special Modifiers could only occurred spawn on Crafted itemsUnique, Set , and Crafted items, and Uniques; never not on magical or rare items. These type of modifers grant unusual modifiers granted special bonuses; properties very that were different from the vast majority of prefixes and suffixesunique, and were often very powerful in their scarcity.
It's There do not known if seem to be many (any?) such modifiers in Diablo III will have , which has a more limited pool of item affixes that are classified , and is balanced to make top quality Rares, or even Blues, as special modifiers, since the developers have revealed very little good or better than Set Items and Legendaries. Further details to be added as more is learned about the itemization process.
