Pylons were introduced to Diablo 3 in the Reaper of Souls expansion. They can appear in Nephalem Rifts in Adventure Mode. As with Shrines their appearance is random and can possess one of a few bonuses listed below.

Types of Pylons

  • Channeling Pylon - Resource costs are removed and cooldowns on skills are reduced by 75%. Negates 'Life Per Fury Spent' Barbarian item bonus
  • Conduit Pylon - Grants players a zapping electrical property that kills most monsters instantly and destroys anything destructible.
  • Shield Pylon - A shield grants the player complete immunity to damage from all attacks and debuffs.
  • Speed Pylon - Your movement speed is increased to maximum.
  • Power Pylon - Damage from all of your attacks is increased by 400%, causing you to deal five times as much damage.

Pylon General Information

  • All Pylons' effects last for 30 seconds on the player who clicked it and nearby allies.
  • The 30 second duration of the Pylon can not be increased by any skills or by the Gloves of Worship (shrines' effects last 10 mins instead of 2).
  • The Barbarian bonus found on some items 'Life Per Fury Spent' will not apply when affected by a Channeling Pylon.
  • Wearing Nemesis Bracers when clicking a Pylon will cause an enemy champion to spawn. It is not known if this is working as intended because the bracers only state Shrines in the description.
  • Pylons do not regenerate and can only be used once per game.
  • A pylon's effects persist if the player moves between levels.
  • Pylons of different type can be active at the same time.
  • Pylons of the same type do not stack, they simply reset the 30 second timer.
