Unity properties
This item is a very powerful and popular item despite the odd with an unusual legendary affix. The Affix was added that divides the damage taken between all characters in Loot 2the game wearing the ring.0(Or a character and his follower, seemingly as a handicap if the follower is wearing Unity also.) When it comes to an item that was arguably the most powerful legendary offensive potential, this ring in D3v. The main attraction is one of the best, with the big bonus to Damage Against Elites, along with the inherent bonus to mainstat and ChC. Most players choose to enchant the LpH into another offensive stat, most often IAS or ChD, turning this ring into a very powerful quadfecta.
* This item initially had an inherent affix granting Life per Hit, which most players enchanted into an offensive stat. The LpH bonus was removed in Patch 2.1 (though it may still roll randomly.) There are some oddities to the damage splitting: * An interesting exploit exists with this ring attack does 100 damage, Player A's damage mitigation is 70% and Player B's is 50%.* When A gets hit, the attack is reduced to 30 damage, then gets halved and both players take 15 damage-sharing legendary feature. * When B gets hit, the attack is reduced to 50 damage, then gets halved and both players take 25 damage.* If there are 3 Players & A gets hit, the resulting 30 damage will result in each Player taking 10 damage.* It is a good idea for the player with the most damage mitigation to take most of the damage. With a character and a follower wearing the ring, the damage is shared. This can equip themselves and their be helpful as damage taken by the hero is cut by 50%, though that will often cause the Follower to die from the shared damage. It can also be dangerous to the player; if a follower takes huge damage, such as from standing near multiple exploding Molten or suicide bombers, half of that will share to the player with a Unity, even if they are standing well clear of the damage. It's very possible for players to die purely from the damage their follower takes, when both are using Unity. An interesting trick is to equip hero and put follower with Unity, while the Follower also equips one of the "can not die" Legendary Follower Items on their follower. That item acts as a 100% damage reduction bonus to the Follower, that will essentially cut so they take no damage at all incoming player damage by half. This is because Thus 0% of the damage is shared by all they take reflects to the wearers of player via Unity in the game, so half and 50% of the damage the player takes goes to the followerFollower, who doesn't even feel where ithas no effect. And since This effectively gives the Follower takes no player full time 50% damagereduction, and thus a Unity on both and that follower item is considered mandatory for the don't share any back to the playerhighest level Greater Rift play in Reaper of Souls.
