They that appear only in Nephalem Rifts when the playerprogress bar has reached 100%. These are souped-up versions of normal Rift Guardians, and behave just the same, appearing only when a Greater Rift is 100% completed and acting as the final boss of the Rift.
Rift Guardians are all "purple" Unique monsters, with special powers and abilities that are pre-set, rather than randomly-spawned as the [[Boss Modifiers|Modifiers]] are on random [[Elites]]. Many Guardians have some special abilities that do not appear on other bosses, such as the full screen elemental attacks displayed by [[Rime]] and [[Blighter]] when they drop below 25% health.
Some Rift Guardians are modified quest bosses, and players will encounter Guardian versions of [[Zoltan Kulle]], [[The Butcher]], [[Maghda]], [[Cydaea]], [[Leoric]]] and many several others.

All of these Guardians (save the Lord of Bells) can appear as [[Greater Rift Guardians]], where they may have additional abilities or other improvements.
