→Legendary Drop Rates
Legendary Drop Rates
The challenge of legendary items is finding them. During Diablo 3 vanilla, from May 2012 until early 2014, a high value of Magic Find, 350% or more, was essential to see a legendary items drop frequently. This was the main operational purpose of the Neplahem Nephalem Valor and Monster Power systems, which raised Magic Find with each Paragon level, and also boosted MF, Gold Find, and experience rewards. That system changed entirely in D3v2 and today in Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls, Magic Find is essentially irrelevant as a stat or game function. The benefit to boost legendary drop rates is only 10% of a character's MF value from gear, and the key to finding legendary items is playing on a higher difficulty level. Each level boosts the legendary drop rate, and playing in Nephalem Rifts tacks on another considerable bonus. See the difficulty article for full details.
