no edit summary
Skeletal SummonersTomb Guardians are magically induced Skeletons that are spellcasters themselves, able to raise new warriors without the help of a Necromancer or other demonic magician.
Skeletal Summoners Tomb Guardians are Undead Monsters.
Diablo III Monster
These skeleton version of casters spawn with packs of Skeletal Archers and Skeletal Shieldmen for protection. The Summoners Tomb Guardians are larger than regular skeletons, and have glowing purple/pink orbs around their upper bodies. These may be shields, decoration, or an indication what type of elemental damage they deal. During battle the summoners stay to the rear of their foot soldiers, where they keep busy summoning fresh skeletons, or hurling purple projectiles at any players who stray into range.
Their summoning animation is interesting; in the WWI 2008 gameplay movie they were seen shooting a purple laser beam from each eye. The beams travelled some distance, then converged and dove into the ground, causing a new skeleton to rise up a second later. It's not known if they have the ability to buff their skeleton followers or only summon new ones.

Background
Skeletal Summoners Tomb Guardians are regular Skeletons, but also casters. This additional power requires the Necromancer or demon summoning the skeleton to use a summoning spell of significantly more power. Using the bones of a deceased Sorcerer will make the Skeletal Summoner more powerful. However, it's sometimes harder to corrupt the bones of a powerful individual.
