Common Scraps are no longer found in Diablo III.

Prior to their removal, they were the white quality [[material]], created by salvaging [[Normal]] quality items. All normal quality materials were removed late in the beta test, when the [[interface]] and crafting systems were overhauled and the [[Nephalem Cube]] was removed from the game.[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/diablo-3-progress-report-2]

Common Scraps is one were seen in the first reveals of the materials obtained by salvaging items crafting and artisan systems, and they looked very different in the [[salvage cube]]those early incarnations. Materials are used by the  [[Artisan]]s to craft new File:Salvage-items. [[Materials]] are also required for jpg|center|thumb|600px|Early version of the [[trainingSalvage Cube in action, with a before and after view.]] the Artisans to do level up.
There may be other purposes for materials as well, but none have yet been revealed.
Common Scraps are obtained from nearly everything recycled in the Salvage Cube, and are in turn needed in every recipe.
