In April 2011 The Korean Diablo twitter feed confirmed that there would be outdoor Arena maps, with trees, rocks, ponds, etc.<ref>[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/official-d3-korean-twitter-reveals-new-arena-info-the-limits-of-google-tran/ Korean Diablo 3 Tweet] - Diablo.IncGamers.com, April 2011</ref>
A variety of map names can be seen in the Diablo III beta client data files. As with all data mining from the beta, there's no guarantee these will be a feature in the final game.
Fans hope for a wide variety * PvP Maze_01: The Hedge Maze of tile sets, representing many Deadly Shrubbery* PvP Octogon 01: The Octagon of the environments seen throughout the game. Different arena layouts and sizes are expected as well, though it seems likely that the developers will limit the sizes and make sure that every map has a decent amount Certain Doom* PvP Pillar 01: Carls Canadian Crazy Map* PvP Stairs 01: Raised Areas of (but not too many) obstacles so that the arenas are fair for all the different classes. Death!* PvP Test BlueTeam: Khazra Encampment* PvP Test Neutral: Contested Grounds* PvP Test RedTeam: Undead Cemetery* PvPArena: Arena* PvPBattlefield: Battlefield* PvPDungeon: Dungeon
Players desire a wide variety of maps and layouts in the game, so all strategies and build types can be viable.  For instance, an arena with too many trees, posts, walls, and other barriers would work against ranged attackers, while one that was wide open, with but had lots of holes or other ground obstacles like pits, low walls, etc, would be a killing field for greatly favor ranged attackersas they could fire freely while melee characters moved slowly.  ===Arena Game Types=== Players have often requested a variety of game types, but the developers have promised nothing yet other than basic team-based PvP. Arenas Various game types are listed in the beta data files, but as with too many pits or water hazards would discriminate against characters who didnall data mined info, there's no guarantee these features will active in the final game. * GameType1: Cooperative* GameType2: PvP - Diablo III* GameType3: PvP - DotA* GameType4: PvP - Arena* GameType5: PvP - Team Deathmatch* GameType6: PvP - Free For All  ===Arena Buffs=== Three types of buffs are listed in the data files. As with all data mined info, it't have a s not known if these will appear in the final game. * PvP_DamageBuff_0_desc:** Damage Increased by 100% * Attack, Casting, and Movement Speed increased by 25% * Damage Taken increased by 50% * PvP_DamageBuff_0: [[teleportTemp]] or [[leap]] skill, etcQuad Damage* PVPRoundEndBuff_1_desc: Diablo has become bored with this incredibly long round.Time to die! / hah
