==BlizzCon 2008==
The Barbarian's skills and skill trees were first seen at [[BlizzCon 2008]] as a mix of active and passive skills (mostly passive), with only a few enabled and many showing nothing more than vague descriptions in the skill trees. The Barbarian's skills were divided among his skill trees thusly:
* [[Berserker Skill Tree]]: 6 active skills and 12 passives
* [[Juggernaut Skill Tree]]: 6 active skills and 12 passives

==BlizzCon 2009==
For [[BlizzCon 2009]], the list of the Barbarian's passive skills had greatly shrunk, but the active skills were mostly just shuffled around.
The Barbarian gained four new active skills: [[Spirit]], [[Wrath of the Berserker]], [[Bloodthirst]], and [[Weapon Throw]].
The Barbarian also lost 24 passive skills, and only five new passives were introduced: [[Scavenge]], [[Strong Constitution]], [[Bloodthirst (skill)|Bloodthirst]], [[Retaliation]], and [[Cripple]].

The updated Barbarian tree-less skills list at [[BlizzCon 2010]] removed all earlier passive skills (they became [[Barbarian traits]]) and changed around a number of active skills as well. The Barbarian lost [[Battle Cry]], [[Onslaught]], [[Bloodthirst (skill)|Bloodthirst]], and [[Enrage]]; but also gained [[Rampage]], [[War Cry]], [[Ancient Spear]], [[Rend]], and [[Call of the Ancients]].
For [[BlizzCon 2010]], passive skills were removed from the skill trees and replaced by [[traits]]. Twelve of the Barbarian's passive skills were removed, but this time, 28 new traits were introduced. Only two passives were turned, more or less directly, into traits: [[Bad Temper (Skill)|Bad Temper]] and [[Second Wind (skill)|Second Wind]].
