==Lore== The follower Eirena has the most shadowy and ambiguous lore out of the three followers. In an interview with FZ.se, Leonard Boyarsky had this to say about Eirenaher:
<blue>Then we have the Enchantress - Eirena – whose past is shrouded in mystery. She follows a mysterious figure called The Prophet and is good at controlling groups of enemies. The player will learn more about her dark past as they progress through the main story.</blue>
Each follower has their own questline that the player can choose to pursue if they wish, but Eirena's plot is the least known of the three. It is possible that she may have some interaction with elements in Caldeum, as she seems to dip into the same arcane arts as the Wizard.
The followers in Diablo III are much more restricted in what they can equip from what we've seen in the mercenaries in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.
It is currently unknown what items the Enchantress can equip, or what the restrictions are, outside of what has been seen at this point. Eirena can equip two rings, an amulet, a unique unlockable item at level 25 which is earned through her questline's completion, and she has been seen thus far brandishing a two-handed staff.
Like the other followers, the Enchantress Eirena has three levels of gear progression. It's currently unknown if the gear progression is only cosmetic, or if it based upon level, or some other system.

Skills
Much like the player character classes, followers are able to learn a few skills or spells at specific level milestones. Not much is known about the skills, currently, besides their names and when they are unlocked. Players may choose one skill from each tier. Follower skills cannot be modified by runes, and they only have one rank.
While, oddly enough, gaining some of the Necromancer's abilities from Diablo II, the spell kit for the Enchantress appears to be very similar to that which is seen with the Wizard, namely a fixation on unstable Arcane powers.
