The Witch Doctors are seen as alien, strange, and untrustworthy by the NPCs in the game. This isn't surprising, as the Witch Doctors look very odd in their gear, and are far from traditionally-armored warriors. [[Captain Rumsford]]'s greeting to the Witch Doctor, newly arrived in [[Tristram]] in Act One at the very start of the game, illustrates this clearly.
