Regardless of if the name is right or not, the human who became the Dark Wanderer was an unknown adventurer and became a hero, at least for a brief period before bringing a [[demon]]ic horde on to [[Tristram]]. Whether the Wanderer did this on purpose or not is unknown, but it is known it took quite a while for [[Diablo]] to finally overcome the human soul.
