Community Manager

Community Manager (CM) is the job title Blizzard assigns to their public relations employees who are tasked with fan interactions and community outreach.

Community Managers interact with fans via Blizzard's official Twitter and Facebook pages, as well as via the Battle.net forums. CMs also run Blizzard's official "community" sites, which are designed to take the place of independent fansites.

Bashiok was named the Diablo III community manager in 2008, and remained the only Diablo CM for the next three+ years. It is assumed that more D3 CMs will be assigned as the game enters the beta test and moves towards release, as Starcraft II and World of Warcraft have numerous (dozens, for WoW) CMs. During the 2008-2011 time period, Bashiok worked only part time on Diablo III, often spending his work time assisting with CM duties for Starcraft II and World of Warcraft.
