They are not powerful [[monster]]s, but are disgusting in their fecundity and must be stomped out, like giant maggots. The eels, properly called Lamprey are wriggling creatures that must be killed lest they consume your character's toes, but they seem to die very quickly, and on the whole the Grotesque/Lamprey combo looks more inventive and amusing than dangerous. In fact, the amount of Lamprey that explodes from a dead Grotesque seems to be way too many to fit inside the body. Still, that's the nature of [[Animalsmagic]].
The animation of Lamprey explosion is very much overemphasized, and out of the huge pile of maggots, only a handful are squirming actually capable of chopping off any player toes.
