Topazes are one of the four types of [[gem]]s found in Diablo III.
Over the first year of Diablo 3, the Topaz became the least popular gem overall, between Hardcore and softcore players. It enjoys some popularity for Magic Find in helms, but the reflects damage modifier (and [[Thorns ]] in general) is useless in Diablo 3 (as of the v1.0.7 patch) which gives the Topaz no value in weapons.
Adding intelligence in armor is useful for [[Witch Doctor]]s and [[Wizard]]s, but those are two of the least popular classes (again, as of v1.0.7), hence Topazes have a fairly low value and price.
