Being an ArtisanHaedrig handles all salvaging, Haedrig is a unique NPCand also crafting. He makes numerous types of armor and weapons, and learns new recipes as he can do unique things levels up, as well as be a regular vendor and an interactive characterfrom crafting plans found by players. He does not buy or sell items.
*Crafting
All artisans in Diablo 3 can craft special itemsWhen the Artisan system was announced, all three Artisans had some crafting abilities. The Blacksmith focuses on crafting weaponsJeweler crafted rings and amulets, the armorMysticcrafted spell-caster items like wands and orbs, and eventually can specialize the Blacksmith crafted other weapons and armor. This system evolved during development, with jewelry crafting removed (likely to return in an expansion), and spell-caster item type, such as swords or axes. Once he's specialized, crafting moved to Haedrig will stock more of that item type, as well as learning more recipes to create special versions of iteven before the Mystic was removed from the game during the beta test.
*Repairing
Haedrig can repair items in Diablo III, a feature no other Artisan or vendor can do.
*SocketingSalvagingHaedrig Salvaging was originally set to socket items, but that ability was transferred to accomplished with the Cube during development. After that item was removed from the interface, a salvaging tab was added to Haedrig's interface.
*Salvaging
Salvaging was originally intended for the Nephalem Cube. Since the Nephalem Cube is now gone, The Blacksmith will help the player with all the salvaging.
*Training
Haedrig can must be trained in his art, provided the player gives order to learn higher level recipes that keep him Salvaging Supplies useful to your character as you level up. The costs and some Goldrequirements for training have changed repeatedly during development. Upon giving these materials As of March 2012, training Haedrig up to about level 3.5, which grants him (these come in setsrecipes with character level requirements into the high 20s, costs only gold. Higher levels of training, accomplished during Nightmare, for exampleHell, 4 Common Scraps and 500 Inferno, require gold for 1 upgrade), as well as materials and Pages of Training.   Haedrig gains experienceformerly handled socketing but that talent was given to the Jeweler. Once he levels upHe also lost his repair monopoly, Haedrig offers more crafting recipesand now various NPC merchants provide that, more/better items sold along with selling and buying weapons and is visually Upgradedarmor.**Current Known Ranks of the Headrig's Training (in ascending order): Apprentice, Journeyman.
Appearance and Upgrades
Haedrig's wagon and general shop appearance will change, growing more shiny and impressive, as he is leveled up. Each of the Artisans in Diablo III has 10 levels to upgrade through.
This happens for all of the Artisans, but so far the only in-game images released for any of them Haedrig's are of the Blacksmith and his cart. You can compare the concept art, to the right, best documented as he's been trainable up to level 5 during the in-game appearance at the first, secondbeta test, and fifth (highest) levels from screenshots, in the compilation image belowother higher level wagon images have been released by Blizzard
