APS is an abbreviation for Attacks Per Second, which is displayed on the tooltip when hovering over [[Weapon|weapons]] found in [[Diablo III]]. It is an intuitive number that simply informs you how many attacks you'll be getting each second, yet it can be easily integrated into more advanced calculations of damage output.
It is unknown if the ingame tooltip reflects changes made to the APS via [[IAS]]-gear (Increased Attack Speed) or skills such as the [[Barbarian|Barbarian's]] [[Frenzy]] ability, but it can be presumed the tooltip will not update in order to be able to keep track of different weapons' base APS regardless of your gear or active skills.
