Jill Harrington at Blizzcon 2010.

Jill Harrington is a Senior Technical Artist for Diablo III.

Background

Jill received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.), majoring in Ceramics, from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1999. She went on to further her skills in 3D animation and modeling, developing the fundamentals that would help her pursue a career in the gaming business as an artist. Her technical expertise with the 3D modeling and animation package Maya is extensive, and she even worked as a Support Product Specialist for Alias|Wavefront (the original developers of Maya, prior to Autodesk's acquisition of the company).[1]

In 2003, Jill landed her dream job. She was hired by Turbine Entertainment as a technical artist. She worked on Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar and Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited. She also authored a developer diary during her work on Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, where she gave an inside look at the character setup process.[2]

Some time after 2009, Jill was hired at Blizzard. Given her love of the fantasy genre and MMORPGs, it seems Jill's dream job has gotten sweeter. She now works as a Senior Technical Artist on Diablo III.

Artwork

Jill has a personal website that showcases some of her work. She displays some wonderful ceramic art, 2D art, and 3D art (animations and modeling). Many of her pencil sketches demonstrate her keen eye for details and shadowing.
