Quest Items

Quest Items are objects connected to quests in Diablo III. These items are often required to complete the quest; your character might have to retrieve a special item, or find an item and take it to a certain location, or kill a monster to obtain the item.

Quest items can not be equipped in Diablo III; they are simply carried and automatically "used" when the time comes. In earlier versions of the game, there was a special Quest Item tab in the inventory, into which quest items were automatically slotted. It's not known where they are held in the current, tabless inventory layout.

Known Quest Items

Only a few are known so far, with our minimal knowledge of the game's quests. This page will be greatly expanded when more information becomes available.

Act I Quest Items

The Doll is required to complete the Little Girl Lost quest.

The Crown of the Skeleton King is required to complete The Skeleton King quest.

Act II Quest Items

Husam's Head must be retrieved to receive the bounty in the Blood Money quest. Husam won't just give you his head, of course. He's grown rather attached to it.

Alesar's Pendant must be retrieved from the body of an enormous Sand Thresher, which consumed it, along with Alesar's son. Returning the pendant to Alesar earns the character a hefty experience reward.

The Idol of Rygnar was found in the Lost Ruins dungeon in Act II. The player doesn't actually touch the idol; it's simply necessary to lead an NPC to it, and when you get there he grabs it.

Act Three Quests

None are yet known. Act III is expected to be revealed in the Blizzcon 2010 demo.
