No details at all are available about Kalan other than the fact he wrote a series of books that were either named, or later became known as the Books of Kalan. They talk about the Sin War and the events that took place there.
It's likely not a book that is readily available to the public, as people do not seem to know about the nephalem in any detail.
The Books of Kalan are quoted in Diablo: Scales of the Serpent.
