Welcome[edit source]

Hello! I think this might be the first talk page message in the wiki, and I'm doing it =D Anyway, good initiative with the DiabloWiki Crew, feel free to help expanding that as well as other things. What do you think about Help:Structure btw? any input is welcome, but I won't promise I'll change much ;)

Obviously, some categories are still missing, it will be a continuous work in progress. --Leord 14:27, 15 August 2008 (CEST)

Categories vs Articles[edit source]

Hi Leord, nice of you to drop by. =]

I'm glad you brought up Help:Structure - I think it's a great idea and it's coming along nicely. One of the grey areas for me is defining where a categories and articles overlap, since Categories seem more like tags than articles. A specific instance of this is whether Category:Weapons should contain the article Weapons. I guess in general (and it looks like this is what you're doing with Help:Structure), we need to define where a category stops and articles start for some of the high level concepts. Other examples of this are Armor, Classes, Acts, etc.

Also, I think Help:Structure should (someday) be formalized as the official Sitemap. That way people could jump in and browse by Category from a high level starting point on one page. Thoughts?

Hi, I missed the reply =) I need to get used to talk on talk pages again, haven't used that properly since Hellgate... Sad memories.. Anyway, I am going to make a categories page soon, where it explains what a category is and how to use it. You can see it as half a sort of folder and half a sort of tag, indeed. As an answer to your question, I'd say that a "weapons" article definitely should be in the Weapons category, and same goes for everything else. Mind you that "Weapons" probably also will have subdirectories such as "One-handed weapons" etc. I'll get more into formatting later, but generally a wiki article is one capital and the rest lower case. Like "One-handed weapons" will be. Exception is if the article name is also a title, such as Grand Admiral or something (probably not an article we will create).
The Sitemap is a very good idea, that I didn't think of. It will probably be similar, but with links to articles instead of categories. Well, perhaps one or two categories, but I like it when visitors get the best possible view of things.
Anyway, feel free to pitch in in regards to fill out all the lore an other pages with some skeleton info, but don't forget the stubs. ;) Add the stub at the bottom, over the categories. We might want to change the stub template to be less "dominant" on pages as well... --Leord 17:45, 18 August 2008 (CEST)
Or, just continue with the items and stuff ^^ Even better. Probably what people are more interested in at this point anyway ;) --Leord 17:47, 18 August 2008 (CEST)
I'll see what I can flesh out. I agree the default stub template feels a bit strong, I'll tinker with it a bit.
--Azymn 08:40, 23 August 2008 (CEST)
It could definitely be toned down a few notches. If you do, please also edit the Diablo2 wiki one as well! Or add it if it's missing... --Leord 19:59, 26 August 2008 (CEST)
Done for both wikis, lemme know if it's too much.
--Azymn 04:18, 14 October 2008 (CEST)
I like it! It's a lot better, but I think we could tone it down further. Making the outer line in a tone closer to the background, and making the background a dark version of that colour as well, but not as dark as pure black. Not a prio though. I'm more happy with this than it was before. --Leord 18:15, 14 October 2008 (CEST)
Version 1.1 saved...
--Azymn 07:08, 16 October 2008 (CEST)
BTW, Flux removed the categories from the page, so it doesn't bother the regular category content until it's done. Use Help pages or ask me if you need help =) --Leord 14:23, 17 October 2008 (CEST)

Other classes[edit source]

Excellent to update this article page, as we're busy rewriting transcripts and other things from BlizzCon! =) One thing though, on a general principle, avoid fixing typos and spelling errors in quotes. The small "b" in "Barbarian" was not a typo by us, but the original source. Leave those in, as it's a quote, we're not editing that normally. Don't change it back or anything, but I just said it here so you know if you come across it again =) --Leord 03:22, 14 October 2008 (CEST)

Okay, good point, I will watch out for those. I guess I didn't think about if it was transcribed from audio or if the text was lifted directly from another source. =]
--Azymn 04:35, 14 October 2008 (CEST)
If it's our transcripts right into the wiki, feel free to fix it, but if the source is other site, then keep typos and grammar errors, unless they fix them then copy that instead, or in addition =) --Leord 18:10, 14 October 2008 (CEST)

Poke[edit source]

I also answered on my talk page =) --Leord 18:10, 14 October 2008 (CEST)

Your User Page[edit source]

Are you preparing to update known characters in the Diablo universe? =) --Leord 18:02, 22 October 2008 (CEST)

Hopefully. I just finished reading a couple of the novels so I wanted to hit them while it was fresh in my mind.
--Azymn 20:37, 22 October 2008 (CEST)
BTW, got an msn/ICQ? I have mine on my user page, feel free to add me =) --Leord 18:17, 22 October 2008 (CEST)
Interesting you'd mention that. I sent an ICQ request to you the other day but it didn't look like it went through, so I'll resend it. My ICQ# is 81823823.
--Azymn 20:37, 22 October 2008 (CEST)
Gotcha now! =) BTW: you must have the tidiest user page in the wiki ;) --Leord 11:37, 24 October 2008 (CEST)

Hello[edit source]

Haven't had the time to poke by for a while, and you haven't been around that much anyway. Are you alright?

Also, I'd love some input on the new way we're presenting skills... Check out User:Belushi81x's talk page for the discussion. Even just giving your opinions and pointers would be helpful! --Leord 19:08, 13 March 2009 (CET)

Hey Leord, it has been awhile. I did a little roughwork on the skill nav, I'll pop in again to give input on the other stuff when I can. Vipermagi and Belushi81x are doing a fine job. --Azymn
Could I ask you to add links to any of your test things to the related project page: DiabloWiki:Community Portal/Skill Tree Revamp? thanks =) --Leord 19:02, 18 March 2009 (CET)

Special:Recentchanges[edit source]

RC can be reached by hovering your mouse over the Navigation link and clicking Recent Changes in the dropdown menu; Figured it might be more convenient than going to your userpage all the time :) If you already figured that one out; just ignore me. --Vipermagi 21:16, 19 March 2009 (CET)

I usually springboard to everything I'm working on from my userpage so it's already open, but that is still good to know. Thanks for the tip.

Skill Revamp Project Re-Initiated[edit source]

Hey mon. Left some messages on your ICQ. Obviously no rush, but please do reply when you can :)

I want to make somethign nice out of Template:Skillbox, and we did have some good ideas before I pulled away to do some SC stuff and other tasks. --Leord 19:17, 1 July 2009 (CEST)

I updated the skillbox, but look at an older revision to get an idea. --Leord 16:15, 3 July 2009 (CEST)
