The Artisan is a mid-range melee class that utilizes brutal speed and accuracy, with a mastery that turns it into an art. It can attack capably from either a distance or right up close, and hold its own easily against large numbers.

The Artisans are a tight knit group of fighters who were cast down from Caldeum's high society by the Vizjerei mage clan as well as the Yshari council of sorcerers, due to thier lack of magical prowess. For years they have stayed in the slums honing their disciplines to the point where they have broken down their mental barriers, lifting the restraints put on their bodies, allowing them to push through the limits of human endurance and obtain superhuman reflexes, all in the name of revenge. Because of their own reliance on their physical abilities rather than on any mystical abilities they have come to loathe all magic users, believing that the use of such practices should be forbidden from combat, as it is not a representation of the fighter’s actual abilities, and that the mages have become to reliant on their powers.
The Artisans insatiable hunger for reverence throughout Caldeum has driven them to the edge many times, and they have been on numerous occasions referred to as bandits and rogues, but in truth they only wish for a chance to earn back the respect they once had, passing up no opportunity to best a magician.
And so, when a pair of young Artisans heard tales of a Wizard gone rogue; travelling the lands destroying evil, they immediately took it upon themselves to take up the quest as well, and beat the Wizard.
Class Design
The Artisan employs an assortment of dual weapons to deliver a fast and efficient death to its enemies, with flawless beauty. A series of dance like moves used can induce trances on enemies or allies to buff or de-buff allowing the Artisan to either move in for the kill, or simply pick them off one by one.
The play style is that of a refined fighter with less brute strength and more speed and finesse applied trough the mastery of its blade.
Attributes and Skills
General Skill Tree Info
The character receives 1 skill point each level, and some extra in the form of quest rewards. The maximum amount in a single skill differs with caps ar 5, 10 and 20 as a base, but all these can reach above their limit with plus from equipment or other buffs, much like in previous game.
To be able to put points in the next tier of skills, one must have reached the level needed and put at least one point in the skill leading to the desired one, if the arrows indicate a dependence. The tiers get available on lvl 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 respectively.
Artisan Skills
The Artisans’ skills are arranged into to three distinctive skill tree categories:
* Aesthetic
* Swordplay
* Locomotion
All three trees have a combination of active and passive skills. Active skills are used in combat, while the passive skills boost or change the behaviour of the active skills.
Aesthetic Skills
This tree encompasses a wide range of buffs and de-buffs the Artisan has at its disposal and a small amount of slow incredibly destructive attacks which mainly focus on the artistic capabilities of the warrior. These moves require little to no fury but all have cooldown periods after their use making it ineffective for gathering fury. The passives here will increase de/buff period, increase core attack speed and magical resistances. If large amounts of points are put into here it will create a more team orientated character that can aid its allies and protect itself, but will have trouble taking on a horde alone.
Swordplay Skills
The skills in this tree are the main close-quarters attacks of the Artisan and are all extremely powerful and rely mainly on strength. They can be either shatteringly powerful direct attacks or large area attacks. Use of these skills requires moderate to large amounts of fury. The passives here will increase strength, both of moves and core, as well as the chance to block and dodge an enemies attack. If points are focused to heavily here the Artisan will struggle to make an effective fighting source as it constantly struggles to maintain enough fury for a solid attack, but if balanced right with other trees it could become n effective powerhouse.
Locomotion Skills
The skills in this tree are all moves that the Artisan will carry out from afar, applying its incredible speed to rush in, attack, and then return. These skills are for the most part, the least powerful, and most important, at the Artisan’s disposal as they are the only moves with no fury cost or cooldown period, and are therefore the best moves for gathering [fury]]. Heavy dependence on these skills will result in a conservative play style focused on attacking the most important targets in a group and then moving in for the kill.
Development
The Artisan is the collective result of too much spare time, an overactive mind and a gentle push from Leord at Diii.net.
